Meeting
Times:
- Most Life Groups meet
Sunday evenings; some may meet a different day of the week.
Meeting
locations:
- Primarily Life Groups
meet in homes; a few prefer to meet at the building.
Lifetime:
- Groups re-form annually.
- They meet 11 months out
of the year, reserving one month for leader re-training and new leader
training.
- Groups growing to a
regular adult attendance of 15 are encouraged to multiply into two new
groups at an appropriate time.
Composition:
- Two leaders are in each
group wherever possible.
- Groups initially form with
8 – 12 adults per group.
- Members may join any
group but are encouraged to join a group with members they don’t know
well.
- Members may sign up for a
group at any time during the year.
Activities
& Curriculum:
- There are three primary
activities during each Life Group meeting. It is the responsibility of
the group leader to allocate appropriate time to each activity:
- Bible Study and Personal
Application
- Singing, prayer,
Scripture reading
- Special needs of group
members
- Bible Study and Personal
Application time will be based on the class and sermon material from
Sunday morning.
- Group discussion
questions are provided to the leaders in advance of the group meetings.
Child Care:
- Each Life Group is
responsible for care of the children in the group.
- The children in the group
are expected to engage in a planned, age-appropriate activity.
- Adults in the groups with
children rotate responsibility for the children’s supervision and
teaching.
Meal:
- It is recommended that
each group have a monthly meal together, but this is at the discretion
of the group.
Leader
Training:
- Training is required for
each group leader and co-leader.
